Start-up operations after helping find funding for Fertigent, Vilnius, Lithuania, 2006.

PortExpertise accompanied the financial plan and setup of operations on the account of Fertigent that wanted to build a full automated liquid bulk facility to generate new business for its freshly acquired terminal in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Challenge

Fertigent wanted to expand its business and therefore acquired a terminal in Vilnius, Lithuania, where it had the intention to set up a fully automated liquid bulk facility.

However, investors and venture capital had to be found in order to realize these plans.

Action

PortExpertise experts prepared the financial investment file and facilitated the roadshows. They also negotiated and selected the potential partners for the joint venture, drafted and negotiated the final joint venture agreements, set up the joint venture, and designed the shareholder structure. Further, they were involved in the set-up of operations: they tendered and selected the technical contractors in engineering, building and, infrastructure, they monitored the works, controlled the budget, started up the terminal, designed the procedures for the operational staff and acquired required licences and permits.

Result

Recently the terminal celebrated its 10th anniversary, the site is the client's main European distribution terminal to serve French, German, and BeNeLux agricultural cooperatives with liquid fertilizer.

A detailed first infrastructure analysis of port of Yanbu expansion on dry port storage facilities. Activities performed included, infrastructure volume scenario, connection to/from hinterland area analysis, integration into international supply chains analysis on-site client workshop on-site.

PortExpertise provided technical assistance for preparing solutions, did a feasibility study with cost-benefit analysis for dangerous cargo terminal, and identified the optimal operator model.

PortExpertise pre-screens European subsidy projects on EU-program specs: eligibility, financial plan, risk management, dissemination plan etc. It also helps to complete the applications and provides calculations and the always requested dissemination and communication plan.
